XX times to Hatyai, Thailand
(29 September to 2 October)

This trip was an impromptu decision. 2 Changs and 1 Ang bought the tickets on the day itself and had the upper deck of the coach all to themselves. This means that my parents could fart all night long. Poor me :(

I have lost count of the number of times I've been there but one thing for sure - it was a yearly(sometimes bi-annually) affair. I feel it is OK to endure the long ride but damn, why have they (Malaysia) not renovate the public toilets? Some food from the pit stops not to be missed - Prawn noodles and Ramly Burger.

My main motive was to embark on a gastronomic journey but it was only 70% accomplished. I didn't get to savor food from the night roadside stalls. We knocked out pretty early. There goes my Som Tum, oyster omelette, duck noodles, cheng tng ... ...

This is our first visit to this restaurant called Sawoei which was recommended by our hair dresser. It was a pleasant experience. My favourite was the chicken feet. Yums.



Though this is the XX trip to Hatyai, I had my first times too - Thai traditional massage and fish spa. My masseuse kept complaining to my mum's masseuse that my legs were tough. Hello, I learnt "Khaeng" (hard in Thai) from my Thai lesson, ok? And wait till she have her hands on my mum's. She might just quit her job on the spot.

I had a tank full of fish to myself until two Thais came to join me. See, that lady opposite me attracted all my fishes (and her friend's). Bet she has got thick layers of dead skin.

The day before we boarded the double deck coach (G***** D*******), the lady boss of another agency('friend' of ours) warned us that GD coaches had problems. One had its tire punctured, the other had engine problems. Our coach had neither of the problems but we also had a sucky encounter. The air-con was faulty. Not sure if the lower deck was suffering as well but the upper deck was filled with smell of medicated oil and whining from a group of Thai ladies. At one point of time, I had difficulties breathing. Fortunately, an uncle seated behind me took the initiative to check out that rectangular thing and opened it. Everyone on the coach cheered simultaneously. If not for it, the coach will reek of vomit from 20+ human. No amount of air refreshners can relieve.

Our Gap in Shining Armour - life saviour. The lady in yellow was the happiest. If it wasn't for the slot, she could have been the first to have fainted and will not be laughing out loud to the Thai comedy that was showing on the tiny screen.

The driver drove us to an ulu place to have the air-con repaired. Thank you, Mr Mechanic

I miss Thailand and i'm very very not prepared for school tomorrow. Jeez
